DAM Asset - Redirect

Is it possible to have a REDIRECT associated with a dam:Asset?

I have never tried a redirect with Assets. I am looking into this for you.

Checked with a few ppl: 

I assume question is if we can add sling:redirect property on a dam:Asset node.

Theoretically there shouldn't be issue since sling: redirect is for nodes.

But in context of dam assets I cannot think of valid usecase. However click on an image can be definitely redirected to other page or asset.

I've tried adding a sling:redirect property to a damAsset and the redirect does not work.

Our users would like to be able to add a redirect rather than updating the 100s of places within the content that is referencing the asset.
