AEM Assets import/export

Hello.
I have a task to make a connection between the AEM Assets and my web application to be able to import/export the assets (folders and content: images, video and audio).
Could you please let me know the ways I can do it and point me into documentation?
Unfortunately so far I cannot see any clear ways to do so.
