Best Practice using "Refine target using additional data" in a Query?

Avatar

Level 2

Hello,

I am always trying to optimize workflows where I can, using fewer activities when possible.

I am wondering what is considered 'Best Practice' if I am adding data to a Query then using that additional data to "refine the target"......

......where the table for the targeting dimension and the table for the added data have a link association of Cardinality 1-1?

Below is a screenshot...

If that is so you can do query and set targeting dimension table A and filtering dimension as the second table and in filter you will use same conditions as in the refine target.

It might be that the SQL behing will be very similar. Can you try to log SQL to the journal and run both options to see what the queries are?
