Avoid sending duplicate emails from a Campaign in ACC

Avatar

Level 1

Hello Community,

We have a Campaign/worfklow that is set to run indefinitely in ACC which runs daily. We are relying on Delivery Logs to see if this email was sent, but unfortunately the delivery logs are retained for only 90 days so once the 90 days period is over there is potential a chance that the consumers will receive duplicate emails. Is there a way around this? Is there a property we can set in the Campaign to avoid sending duplicate emails? We have other less preferred options like creating a List or setting a flag in the recipients to know if the emails was sent. But just wondering if there is an option to do this OOB. Thanks for your help!

There is the "incremental query" which has it's own history. If it is set to "0" it should hold for a longer period. Just not sure if that means "infinite".

But in practical, it simply remembers who entered your workflow and will thus not allow them to re-enter at any given time.

Maybe it would be worth investigating if that could work for you

Hi @aashu980324 ,

As far as I'm aware, Adobe Campaign Classic (ACC) doesn't have a built-in property to track duplicates beyond the retention period of delivery logs. You'll need to implement a custom solution.

One approach is to create a list or a custom field/flag in the recipient table. I've implemented a custom schema to track all deliveries from ACC, updating it with details like delivery ID and email address upon sending. This allows me to identify duplicates effectively.

Thanks @SorenDP - I will use Incremental query and let you know if this worked.

@aashu980324 Yes, apart from the list option you can try the delivery log with Archived broad log. so, it will give 90 days' data + all old data, but my preferred option will be to create a list which is convenient and fast.
