Tracking code conversion events only in-session?

Are conversion events only counted within a session for a visitor arriving through a tracking code? Or is there a cookie at work to attribute future visit conversion events to that tracking code visitor (like within 30 days)?

Hi Kim,

 

The tracking code report correspond to the s.campaign variable. The s.campaign variable is an eVar. Each eVar has an allocation (First, last or linear), which is last value by default, and an expiration. (I think it might be 30 days by default). Once the tracking code is send to adobe server, it will persist:

-until the value expire (expiration setting)

OR

-until a new value is send

OR 

-until the variable is reset via the admin console.

While the value persist all event being send during this timeframe will be linked to the tracking code value.

You can check the settings of your campaign variable by doing the following:

1.Click on the STAR >> ADMIN TOOLS >> REPORT SUITES

2.Select your report suite

3.EDIT SETTINGS >> Conversion >> Conversion variables
