Building Audiences in CJA with Profile Data

Hello All,

Moving into 2026, we are focusing on building audiences in CJA rather than doing it all in RT-CDP. Up to this point we have been successful doing this with event data, but ideally, we could add in profile attributes as well.

When we built event-based audiences, they matched the equivalent audiences in audience manager very closely. However, when we add profile attributes, that is not the case. I figured this has to do with how CJA and RT-CDP are counting attributes. My understanding is that CJA is counting "the amount of people who have had an event within the date range and who has attribute = x" whereas AM is counting just "the number of people who have attribute = x". Is this the case? If anyone has had success creating audiences with attributes, please share your strategy!

Thanks

Hi

Your assumption is correct. In CJA you only see the profile attributes which have had at least one experience event in the specific date range. RT-CDP gives you all profile attributes independent of experience events. To fully understand your question, what is your use case, or your overall goal?

Hello,

Thank you for your response!

So, we have recently started building audience in CJA because in RT-CDP, contract limits caused us to limit to only a few days' time-to-live for event data. And because we aren't fully aware of how attributes work in a CJA audience build, we have been building the event portion of the audience in CJA and then adding the attributes to it once it is sent to AM.

So, this is obviously inconvenient to split the audience build between two systems, so we would love to incorporate profile attributes into the audience build in CJA.

Thank you!
