How track cross-device

Is there a way to track user over cross-devices?

And how would Adobe calculate the User when I use s.VisitorID, when I know my user and in case I dont I am using the marketing cloud ID-

For example:

A user (unknown) comes to my side and does some hits --> gets firstly the marketingcloud id, but then logs in and would get the s.VisitorId.. Would Adobe count then 2 Users?

Does anyone knw a good way for cross-device-tracking?

DO NOT use s.visitorID for cross device tracking unless all of your visitors are authenticated throughout their entire experience. If someone comes to your site unauthenticated (MCID) and then you switch them to s.visitorID once they log in, they will appear as a new visitor at that point, which means any persistent variables that analytics had attached to those users will break at that point.

Rather than using s.visitorID, take a look into the Adobe Device Co-op for linking cross-device - Overview

Yes, the device co-op is only available in NA, but in a summit session this week they mentioned that this same functionality is on the roadmap for individual report suites (stitching visitors based on various possible ID's)

There's a GDPR webinar being held next week that you can sign up for here: Adobe GDPR Webinar

I'd recommend asking how GDPR affects device co-op during the Q&A so we can get a definitive answer.
