@Luca_Lattarini - I'm assuming you have your paid media tagged (tracking codes), and you've set up your Marketing Channels and related Processing Rules. If this is a correct assumption, the answer to your question comes down to reporting needs and preferences, and either of the following should give you the information you need:

  • Use a "First Time Visits" segment that includes only data where "Visit Number = 1" when looking at your Marketing Channel reports
  • Break down your Paid Media channels using the Visit Number report to show channel-specific activity based on the visitor's visit number (1 === New; >1 === Existing/Return)
  • You might also be able to use the First Touch Channel report, which is populated based on your Marketing Channel Processing Rules, though depending on how your rules are set up, it's possible it will include some number of repeat/return visitors

@Brian_Johnson_ Hi Brian,

Not yet we need to create our tracking code in 3rd Party Web Site. Regarding this part, we have some banners and images in 3rd party web site and I am thinking of implementing hardcoded image request. Is it a good approach?

Thanks

@Luca_Lattarini - Typically, you don't add your Analytics tracking code to third-party websites. I can't recommend that approach. (I'm assuming that, by third-party, you're referring to a site owned and maintained by someone else, and that the content is not yours. Your banners will be placed on the site, but that's the only connection. If you mean something different, please clarify.)

@Brian_Johnson_ Yes, the banner will be installed in external web site. What you think, I simply use queryParams to track when prospect land on my web site from external banner?
