Flow diagram: exits from first column

Avatar

Level 2

Hello,

when adding a page to the flow diagram (Starts with) I am getting the percentages of visits that go to either of the next pages. But I do not not see an exit rate from the first page. Exit rates are starting from the second column. When I use the same entry page in a freeform table I get an exit rate of 32%. So the next steps could only sum up to 68% of the first column since the rest are exits. Where can I see the exits from the entry page. Can anyone explain?

Thank you!

That's really interesting.. I don't use flow diagrams much myself, so I hadn't noticed this... this looks like a deliberate decision from Adobe... not sure why... but I guess they figured IF you want to see pathing starting from X, you don't want to see the flows where users immediately exit? Which seems a little strange....

I don't see any options that looks like it would get exits into this column...

If I were you, I would submit an idea asking for that as a feature, even if it's a configurable on/off so that people can keep the view they are used to.

I was just working on a similar situation earlier today.  Another option is to add the page dimension as the starting point.  You'll then get a list of the top starting pages and see exits where only one page was seen.  Once your initial flow loads, you can then filter the middle column to the page or pages you're interested in.

@MartaSk1Have you tried with by adding pageview metrics and page name as dimension?

I just tried and could able to see the exit counts as highlighted.

Note: In flow chart it will show the top pages.
