If a success event is disabled are server calls still aggregated towards the monthly amt? Thanks.

Hi Rich,
Yes!, if in case you have enable or disable any custom variables or metrics or even you hide the report suite from Adobe Analytics. When any image request is passing through the Adobe portal then there must be chargeable for each Primary server call.
Its better to remove the tracking code permanently from your back end of the website.
Thanks,
Vijay

Adobe doesn't charge by the number of success events, but rather by the number of server calls.
A site that generates 100,000 page views without any eVars/props is billed the exact same amount as a site generating 100,000 page views with 50 props, eVars, and success events.
So, in short, if you want to stop a given site/page from counting towards your contract, you would want to stop data from being sent to Adobe's data collection servers altogether.
