Try changing your Font and Locale under Tools >> Settings to English (International) and Calibri Light.

It worked for me

The date is in text format by design. Let me know if it is hampering your work in any way.

Thanks for the response. If dates can default to date format that would save a lot of time.

I agree with this as well.  It is a quite a pain to go into excel and then convert the text output to date format.
