Hi all,
I'm having some trouble with the data sources FTP upload failing to process my files - I'm sure I'm missing something obvious, but I haven't managed to find what it is, and data sources isn't providing any reason for the failure.
I'm uploading some order information to connect with purchases on my site that are missing information, so the file is in the following format (only uploading one row to test the data source for now)
Date Product Price Orders transactionID
10/14/2024/13/41/00 REGCIT 999 1 GBU1363065
As far as I can tell, the date is in the correct format, the columns are separated by tabs, and it is a valid purchase ID from my site - is there something I'm missing that would cause a processing failure on this file? The data source is of the type Product Cost as this seemed the closest to what I wanted
Thanks in advance

Hey, @Tom_Baty, It seems the files are being picked up but, for some reason, fail. I don't think it can be due to file format either; otherwise, we would see an error here. If this is still an issue, please feel free to log a ticket to Adobe Support along Data Source details such that it can be checked with the help of backend logs.
Hi Tom_Baty,
I was just looking through documentation. It looks like you've followed the guidelines for the data source file format. Could it be that you are missing this: "A vital part of successfully ingesting a data sources file is the inclusion of a .fin file. This file indicates to Adobe that the data file is ready for processing. If you upload a data sources file without a corresponding .fin file, Adobe never processes that data."
My guess would be to look into the uploading process (the .fin file): https://experienceleague.adobe.com/en/docs/analytics/import/data-sources/file-upload
Hope this helps!

Hi Martinej,
Thanks for answering - I'm not sure this is the cause, I am uploading an empty .fin file and both files are disappearing from the FTP which would indicate they are being processed. Additionally the data file is being moved into a folder 'files_with_errors' on the FTP by adobe.
When I check the Data Sources tab I can see the files I have tried to upload, but their status is 'Failed' - but there are 0 Errors, which makes it difficult to figure out the cause. Very mysterious...
