Many online products offer user experiences not only in the browser and in form of mobile sites and apps, but also through Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox Extensions: alone in Chrome Web Store users can chose from ca 190 000 extensions.

Due to its increasing popularity, companies that traditionally focused on website products (and track traffic with Adobe Analytics) also offer Browser Extensions to offer users cross web experiences. Some of Adobe's customers maintain extensions with more than 1 million users, such as: Mendeley Web Importer - Chrome Web Store

Currently, Adobe DTM/Launch is not able to track traffic triggered in Google Chrome Extensions and Mozilla Firefox Extension due to certain errors being triggered in the core dtm libraries when loading additional code.

Our developers have identified that only small code changes need to be made to enable Google Chrome Extension tracking. (no conclusive investigation for Firefox was done). The current lack of support was confirmed by Adobe PM.

The ask is to make adaptive changes in order to officially support tracking from within Chrome and Firefox extensions.
