If you use the Admin Console to create/edit.manage global Calculated Metrics, for some reason, the formulas lose the friendly names (see below). This is a horrible user experience unless you have memorized all of your Success Event Numbers!
Thanks for posting this Adam- I have never understood why the friendly names success event names couldn't carry over to the admin console. This creates a lot of unecessary confusion in making calculated metrics.
This would be easy to implement if you were editing calculated metrics for a single report suite. The problem comes when editing multiple report suites where the event names are different. How would you expect the UI to handle this?
We could certainly fix this when editing a single report suite but I'd love to hear some ideas as to how we could handle this with multiple report suites.
I think it should allow you to do this for any suites that have events with the same name or at least let you see these names for one report suite at a time...
Possible solution: If viewing multiple, report suites, include a pull-down (ideally a combo box with AJAX auto-complete functionality) for choosing which report suite to use for the variable names.
If the calculated metric is not defined for that report suite, show warning message.
