Mobile Browsers should not be classified as "None" in Browsers Report

Today the "Browsers" report, classifies mobile devices as "None".

Displaying "None" even when a User-Agent is clearly captured, represents a confusing and misleading end-user experience.

If anything, this behavior only breeds mistrust of all reported data.

At a minimum, the "Browsers" report should behave similar to the "Browsers Type" report by presenting an "Other".

None should be reserved for the instances where the user-agent is unavailable, obscure, or otherwise not reasonably classifiable.

Currently, we can get device type and OS for mobile, but browser version is not supported.

This would be helpful for reasons of mobile dev support on websites.

The highest volume of traffic on browser reporting is for an unknown browser type, e.g. Safari (unknown version).  I was told this is because when a new Browser version comes out we have to wait till Adobe update their lookup tables before it get a name and this can take 6-8 weeks! So worst case we have to wait almost 2 months before the reporting is accurate. Adobe please update this look up faster.

Also include mobile and tablet in the standard Browser report rather having to go to the mobile reports.

We need to be able to identify mobile browser types.  This is crucial to the business.  Please add this to the reporting.

Agree - we need to see Browser for mobile devices.  Nike has browser dependent functionality for their customize/Nike iD builder; so it's important to understand the number of users who have the different browser types on iPads and Mobile.

Sure there are plenty of ways to improve Mobile reporting in Adobe Analytics. For example:

Don't classify Mobile Browsers as None:

http://ideas.omniture.com/t5/Idea-Exchange-for-Adobe/Mobile-Browsers-should-not-be-classif ied-as-quot-None-quot-in/idi-p/5121

Or include Mobile data in the Visitor Profile > Technology reports:

http://ideas.omniture.com/t5/Idea-Exchange-for-Adobe/Include-Mobile-data-in-the-Visitor-Pr ofile-gt-Technology-reports/idi-p/6839

However, those are interface requests. It's time that mobile browser data starts getting collected based on the user-agent. Google Analytics has been doing it for free for a long time now, it's time for Adobe to catch up.

Developers need to know whether we need to code and QA for not only Safari, but Opera Mini, Mobile Chrome, Android Browser, etc.
