Filtering by Geosegmentation City and Locale

I would like to be able to filter for residents in Washington D.C., however since this is a federal district, and not a city, it doesn't show up in the dropdown menu for GeoSegmentation City, which is making it hard for me to filter the way I want. Does anyone know a work-around for this? The filter I'm using for other cities is:

  • GeoSegmentation City equals Milwaukee
  • and GeoSegmentation Region/States equals Wisconsin (United States)
  • and Locale (CI 4) (prop4) equals Milwaukee
  • and Site Section equals WI

Is there a way to do something like this for Washington D.C.?

Yes, there is a way to do this currently. You will want to use GeoSegmentation Region/State when building your segment, instead of city. Here are some steps you can following to create the segment. 1.) Click the segment drop-down menu and go to Add Segment. 2.) Drag the Visit container to the Include canvas. 3.) Click to define the Visit container on the canvas. 4.) In the new window, click the Item drop down and select "GeoSegmentation Region/States." 5.) Under Value, click "Select Item." 6.) In the new window, enter "District" and click Search. 7.) Select "District of Columbia (United States)" and then OK. 8.) Back in the Visit definition window, click "Add" and then OK. 9.) Save and apply your new segment.

Hi I have a problem when using geosegmentation at city level. The api call returns city and visits. I would like to have city's (centroid) coordinates returned too, so that i can create my map. Currently, i am trying to google a dataset with city name and its coordinates, then do a merge with the adobe analytics data at the city level. It is extremely difficult cause city names do no always match. out of 20,000 cities, i have 6000 not matched. Have to do so many manual manipulation of city names. Thank you for you help.
