Dashboard works as a template and shows data from different report suites, depending on the user - Status changed to: Archived

We have many report suites, and many users, each of which can see only 1 or 2 report suites. I have access to all the report suites. I need to make a dashboard that I can share with all the users. When each user views the dashboard, it needs to show the data for the report suite that the user has access to. So the dashboard will be a template that is filled in with different data, depending on who is using it. This could be done by each user having a default report suite that will be used automatically in the dashboard, or by letting me assign a report suite for each user that will be used in the dashboard.

The current situation requires me to re-create the dashboard, along with all reportlets, for every single user, using a different report suite each time. Since we could have over 100 report suites and users, this is time consuming and impractical.

This is where publishing lists may be of use.

Create a master dashboard add all your reportlets.

Then add a list of email users for each desired report list. You can add them for each report suite or just certain ones.

Now when scheduling a report select publishing list and one template can create 100 different dashboards (if 100 report suites selected) each report suite has unique users if desired.

The user level reportlet challenge is that reportlets are tied to each report suite so if you had 10 reportlets for all various users then you would make 10 separate reportlets. then pick lets say 10 report suites.

Now for each reportlet add a user publishing list.

That way reportlet 1, report suite 1 will have users 1,2,4,5,8

Reportlet 2, Report suite 2 will have users 1,3,4,7,9

etc...

Messy but could work(still faster than 100 custom dashboards). Or do one master Dashboard and let people know to uses what reportlets are applicable...
