This has always been the case. The data doesn't make sense and it doesn't work on most pages, in addition I have to change my browser to get it to work. Why should I have to pay for Crazy Egg for something my Adobe $$$ should be paying for?
Can't agree more! #1 complaint from my marketers is "Why the &$#( doesn't my clickmap work anymore!"
We've had to resort to Crazy Egg, but I need to be able to tie conversions, and I'm tired needing a tracking code for every single button we want to track conversion to.
While we are not actively developing the visitor click map browser plugin at this time, we still offer support for the tool. Please continue to contact client care if you come across technical issues. We are also working on the next evolution of on-page contextual analysis capabilities, but unfortunately do not have any timeline we can share with you right now.
I understand this is frustrating, and we are definitely working to deliver a better experience to you. In the meantime, you can check out some of our partners that provide enhanced functionality, such as Clicktale.
I've heard that Click Map is now being developed, but it would be good to have more clarity on the timeline and features. This is pretty important for our user base and will be a factor in deciding which tool to go with next year.
The above comment is from over a year ago - surely there is some progress?
We are releasing tonight a new version of Clickmap under the Activity Map applicaton name.
Activity Map is available to all Adobe Analytics Standard and Premium customers.
Activity Map can be downloaded on Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer and Safari and comes loaded with new features:
- Many metrics to choose from,
- Segmentation,
- Page Flow Reporting
- CSV Export
- Live mode with minute trends, Additionally, we have worked intensively on enhancing the quality and consistency of the link data that is collected. As such, Activity Map requires websites to be upgraded to the AppMeasurement v1.6 library.
