Backward Rolling Date Range

There are times where a deployment is scheduled and we need to analyze performance before and after the specific date.  I'd like the ability for the rolling date range to apply backwards, so I can create a range for the time prior to deployment as well that is reflective of the days currently used in the rolling date range after.  So as I move two days away from the deployment, the backward range would include the two days prior for accurate comparison.

In addition to this, it would be nice if there was a setting that allowed for comparison date ranges to auto-update to span the same # of days as the selected reporting period range.

For example, if we select a reporting period range of one month (e.g. Feb 2018), then the comparison time period date range would auto-update to span the entire prior month period (e.g. Jan 2018). Then we update the reporting period to range 2 weeks, (e.g. he first 2 weeks of Feb 2018), then the comparison time period would auto-update to be the 2 weeks prior the start of our 2 week reporting period date range (e.g. the last 2 weeks of Jan). Then if we update the reporting period to be 1 day (e.g. yesterday), then the comparison time period would auto-update to be 1 day prior the reporting period date (e.g. 1 day before yesterday).

@hs_vk1 yes! there is a now a very flexible comparison period choice, with:

  • Prior [x] to this date range
  • This [x] last year to this date range
  • Custom date range to this range

You can find it by right clicking on a metric in a table and selecting "Add time period column"
