Analytics Workspace: Lock Rows in Order

Description - 

When working in a Workspace Table, rows are sometimes custom segments or specific values from another dimension. They stay in order as long as you don't edit any of the metrics. However, when you start adding/removing metrics, the order of your table is lost and you have to rebuild it.

 

It would be better to have a feature to lock your selections in place so they remain sorted in the desired order while you actively work in the table. Without this feature I am constantly having to manually re-add the dimension values or segments and it's a waste of time.

 

It would be ideal if the "lock order" feature was available in the right click menu with the other options to copy/download/delete/create segment from selection, etc.

This is a great suggestion and would significantly improve usability for users who rely on maintaining a consistent table structure while analyzing data. The ability to "lock order" would eliminate the frustration of having to constantly rebuild a carefully arranged table after modifying metrics. Including this feature in the right-click menu makes it both discoverable and convenient, fitting well alongside existing options like copy or create segment. It’s a practical enhancement that would save time and streamline workflows for many users.

I 100% agree with this idea. To work around this, in the past I have had to rename segments or metrics with a number in front of it so that they stay in order. EX: 1. Home Page, 2. Product Listing, 3. Product Detail

 

Then, I sort ascending and they stay. But, "row lock" would be an amazing upgrade.
