Ability to Use Custom Events in Calculated Metrics

Currently, only standard events can be chosen when creating custom calculated metrics. It would be so helpful if we could select our own custom events. A related issue I am running into, is that I want to keep some of my Standard Events as is like scAdd (Cart Addition) but I want to use a custom event that is this same variable but serialized for my custom metric.

I don't believe there is a solution to either of these - thank you.

You can actually use custom events today. The trick (which we do need to fix) is that the events show up as the event number (e.g., Custom 1), not the friendly name ("Leads Generated"). I will attach a screen shot in a separate comment. Note that custom events are not available for inclusion in calculated metrics in all reports. But in conversion reports or when creating calculated metrics in the Admin Console, they should be there.

Ben, I think there is a defect of once you have these metrics setup and then going to edit and change the formula or the formula name. I have made the same changes several times and only part of one is working - something to look into. Reach out if I can provide more details.

I haven't. In looking into this further, it may just be a design issue that could be improved. When you edit an existing metric, if the formula name is changed, and then you save, this acts liks a save as and you have a new metric. I didn't realize that since I was just looking at the original metric name I created. Well, something that could be improved but sorry to waste your time on it.
