Hi all,I have a background in modern web development using Laravel (PHP) and Angular (JS.TypeScript) and feel very comfortable on the front end and back end side of things. I also have Java experience and am comfortable reading and writing it (at least up to an intermediate level). Given this type of background (no experience with JCRs, CMS, etc), what is the most effective way to come to grips with AEM and become proficient with it from a developer standpoint? I have worked through the getting started material from Adobe and it either leaves much to be desired or I'm just not getting it. Aside from the very basics, I don't feel like I'm taking anything away from the training (in terms of being able to dive into a big existing project and get stuff done). Is this because I don't have a firm understanding of some underlying technologies or something? My goal is to really understand AEM and how it works as well as be able to proficiently develop new functionality while maintaining/fixing

Hi, I'm running an XT targeting existing customers, but the remaining audience that isn't captured (who i'm assuming are new customers) I want to fall into a 50/50 split A/B test. Is this possible? I have an XT activity and A/B activity running separately trying to achieve this, but the A/B test just isn't firing. Thanks, Lee

Is it possible to use AEM Launches with areas other than sites. We manage our E-commerce product catalogue via the AEM Commerce section: http://localhost:4502/aem/products.html/var/commerce/products And it would be very helpful to manage publication of complex changes in this area via the launches feature. However the launches UI does not seem to support this, is this something that we could customise and it should "just work" or am I missing something here?

AEM 6.4 (Service Pack 8 (6.4.8.0)) fails to create image renditions for PNG and GIF files, other file types work as expected. Hi All! I am fairly familiar with a/b testing when it comes to utilizing it in an email program for a 1-time 1 email send. That process is straight forward. My confusion is coming from when I need to set up a/b testing for a series of several emails. The outline of the campaign/program is as follows: -this program is for an event we are running this quarter - this is not an engagement program, no streams, all emails are sent via flow steps in a smart campaign -we have 2 smart campaigns for two different audiences, within each smart campaign (not triggered but filtered), there are flow steps to send a series of emails to get people to register  -my content team is requesting we a/b test the subject lines for each email we are sending, I am reading about champion/challenger emails but I am not sure how to apply that to this scenario. It seems to make sense for ongoing campaigns, to eventually chose the winning subject line, but since we are only sending each email once, I'm not enti

We segregate all less used assets(inactive) to an archive folder in a dam path.These assets keep growing(thousands of assets) as we have daily job running which will move inactive assets to archive.To improve performance of asset search it would be useful to exclude the archive folder/path from search.What is best way to do so?

We are doing an AEM upgrade from 6.4 to 6.5.So the plan is to clone the existing and do an in-place upgrade, while this being done, there are chances of updates happening on the existing system with uploading assets and workflow updates. We want to make sure all the active workflows in the existing system is coped to the new instance. What would be the best way to move all the delta workflow instances from one instance to other? Would packaging the entire /var/workflow/instances cause any issue? 

Hi guys, When we create versions of the page, it starts from 1.0 and then increments to 1.1, 1.2. Is there a limit on how much this 1.x can go to.If I am making a major change, can I make it 2.0 and then let it increment from there on?

I'm trying to create a modal component for my page in AEM. Everything works great. The modal js builds the code in the DOM at the bottom of the page as a direct child of the <body>. Normally with heights at 100% I can position the modal in the middle of the screen, however, the source code of AEM shows that the height of a parent iframe and div are set automatically based on the content. This makes it difficult to position based on the window height. Is there a way around this?

We've noticed in the last couple of days that Chrome is flagging our ics file downloads as insecure:   We're getting this information form the Chrome help center:https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/6261569?p=mixed_content_downloads&visit_id=637414831076777406-3841747890&rd=1    These files are linked from our event confirmation emails and utilize the calendar file tokens within the event programs.   It's my understanding that Chrome are releasing updates to flag certain file types.  Is anyone else seeing this issue with their calendar files and know of a way around it or a way to resolve? The file is still functional if you select 'keep' but it doesn't look very professional to have your files flagged as a potential virus!   Thanks in advance for any advice.

Hi Experts, We have a requirement to save the sort settings in the list view on the author (as in aatched screen) so that a user who frequently uses the same sort can return to those settings. For example, if a user sorts according to "size," the user will see that sort as a default when they return to list view. Hello Community - I am working on a component which uses the sling model to get the required values for the properties that is working as expected. My question here is, I need to use the values I received from Sling Model in javascript (Included as a clientlib in the component). E.g. <sly data-sly-use.productData="com.xxx.aem.models.ProductData"></sly> ${productData.prodDescription @ context='unsafe'} - Can this be used directly used in clientlibs (Not USE API) ?ClientLibrary:var prodDetails = '${productData.prodDescription @2941342='unsafe'}';--------------------------------------------Or should I assign this in HTL first like: <sly data-sly-test.prodDetails ="${productData.prodDescription @ context='unsafe'}"></sly> and then use it in javascript as below?var prodDetails = '${prodDetails}'; - I already set the context in HTL, so I didn't use it here. Also could somebody clarify in which scenario should the context as "scriptString" or "

Hi, Can we deliver pre-filled form data to unauthenticated users?For instance - Sarah is in the market for car insurance and browses many sites, including ABC.com. She also fills out an application but leaves the site. Later, when she comes back to ABC.com after a week, she finds the form data getting pre-populated with the information she provided earlier.One thing to notice, Sarah has never logged in during this entire customer journey.Can we deliver this experience using AEM's Prefill service? Thanks in advance.  

Hi, I was looking out for an option to cease all email communications from Marketo for a day (eg- On a global holiday) and then restoring the communication limits to normal again,  by setting the communication limits to "0" per day and then going back after a day and changing it to my regular limits. I am assuming it will stop all my emails going out for that particular day ,when my communication limit is set to "0".   Has any one tried it before, does it has any underline impact?   Thanks, Harvinder Kaur

Hello All - There is a cq:dialog for the page component for capturing the page properties. In that, I have a drop-down with two options for the authors to select and it is not a mandatory field. When the values are not selected, the productType property shouldn't be captured in jcr:content. Hello All - I have a page with the below tabs in the page properties. All tabs are part of cq:dialog expect Live Copy option. is there any way to move the Live Copy tab as a last tab or last but one. I tried with sling:orderBefore but it is not working. Can someone tell how to re-arrange the order?  

I'd like to show all Projects in a Program, in the same cell, on a Project level report because there is some other contextual information all stored at the Project level that I'm sorting on or displaying.
