I think both @Richard_Le_ and @Rafal_Bainie are right: as below (presumably for "real estate" purposes), the native Workfront user interface stops indenting at the seventh sub level (as Raf recalled), but as the second column confirms, the parent-child relationship does continue as intended (presumably indefinitely, as Rich asserted).
If anyone would like to press on past Child 12 to see if there's a limit, have fun; but I'll stop there, as I think a dozen is plenty, practicality speaking.

I don't believe there is a maximum amount of sub-tasks that a parent task can have. However, there is a limit to the total number of tasks or issues that can be on a project. I believe that the limits are 5,000 tasks per project, or 10,000 issues per project.

There is a limit regarding number of sub levels that can be added, 7 I think is the number
