Reporting on Project Templates

Question on reporting on Project Templates. I am trying to create a report that shows Project Template types used so we can track the numbers on Projects types. I just set this up with more template types so we can track the numbers for 2019. If I want to change the template type on a project that was converted using a different template what is the best way to do this? It appears that if I simply attach a new template and delete the tasks of the old template the new attached template isn't showing up on my report. Right now I have a report that is a Project Report, filtering by: Template ID Equals = "All Template IDs I want to see". The Projects with the new attached templates are still showing as the original template tey were converted to projects as. How do I get the new template to show instead of the original? thanks Tim Tim Vasilovic Turner Broadcasting System, Inc.

Hi Tim, Although you can attach multiple Templates to a Project, there is only one TemplateID field on the Project in the database. It records whichever TemplateID is attached first, and I do not know of a way to overwrite that through the user interface. Given that, you might consider creating a Task report, and show (in the view), and/or Group By, and/or Filter For the task.templateTask.template.name, essentially reading "up" to the original Template behind each Task on the Project (where applicable) to then visualize the Tasks Template origins.
