How do I pull a retroactive report to see how many projects were still open at the end of each quarter?

I would like to see the number above for each quarter of 2019 and 2020, then I would like to see this number for each month of 2021.

I've been working on an answer for this for awhile and the only way I've figured out how to achieve this is to utilize baselines. However, if you didn't have baselines set up when you want to pull your data (EX: 2019) then you can't pull the data.

The best practice is to start using baselines now. I personally have been trying to figure out how to utilize Fusion to generate weekly, monthly, and quarterly baselines automatically. Haven't gotten it yet, but working on it!
