David, I think you're spot on with your suggestions with what's available out of the box: collections cannot be sorted or totaled, and your Project Report is a winner - especially if placed on a dashboard, and then a custom tab under Projects so it automatically self-filters when the tab is clicked.
Laura, if you'd consider something outside the box, I invite you to consider using our "http://store.atappstore.com/product/ubercalc/">UberCalc solution to sum up the actual hours into Project level custom parameters (e.g. one per role) -- making it easy to then get at using standard Workfront views and reports; or alternatively, our "http://store.atappstore.com/product/capacity-charting/">Capacity Charting solution, which we invented to report on this kind of information in real time (planned and/or capacity and/or actual, summed by year/quarter/month/week or day, per Project etc, by Role etc.) Regards, Doug Doug Den Hoed - AtAppStore Got Skills?
