Creating a filter for certain task on job

Avatar

Level 1

I am currently trying to create a way for my team and I to be able to filter jobs based on if they have been quoted or not. There are 4 task related to quoting and I would like to create a filter so that we know what jobs need a quote and which do not based off the filter created. Also, if I can create a board that has a list of jobs that need quotes that would be helpful too.

Do you have the related quote info in a task custom form? If you have the value you want in a task custom form field, you can create a task filter based on the value of that form field...if you don't, you can use a task name 'contains' and make sure those 4 tasks have a unique naming that would fall into that 'contains' and not other tasks.

If this helped you, please mark correct to help others : )

We usually just mark off the assigned task once it is completed. Under our quoting we have for steps. RFQ, quote received, signature received, and PO created. If at all possible I would like to filter the jobs by these four task to see where we stand on each particular job. Are you saying I can filter based off of those four task names, or I can filter based off of the completion percentage of each task.

If you can share more information on how you can tell if a job has been quoted or not (ex: task has been completed), that would be helpful. You should be able to create a report to pull in this information, but the filters would be dependent on how you set things up in your instance.

I would recommend creating a Task Report that filters for these specifics tasks (or template tasks) and then group the results by Project/Job name. That way, you can easily see which tasks have and haven't been completed within each job.

If you wanted to take it a step further, you could either manipulate that report or create a new task report that simply filters for those tasks (or template tasks) and who's status does not equate with Complete to get a sense of which projects/jobs still need to be fully quoted.
