Can I download a report of timesheets that includes every entry logged by a user in their timesheets in any given period?

I need to prepare a record of time spent on projects and it needs to be crosschecked against users' timesheets. So far I can only generate a report with totals submitted/approved for timesheets but it doesn't show the detail of what tasks the hours were logged into.

You will not be able to get that type of report using the Timesheet Object. The only way to get this type of report is to create an Hours Report. There are different variations of groups that you can do depending on how you want to see the date. In the most basic form, you can group the report by user (owner name) and total the hours field to display a total for each group. 🙂
