Adding a Task to a Project using a template but Task never appears

Hi,

 

I am trying to attach a task to a project using a task template but while it says that the task was created successfully, the task never appears.

 

1. The template is active and the entire company has manage access to it.

2. I cannot do this as a system admin and a standard user is not able to either.

3. There are no filters of views in place preventing it from being shown.

4. The project is in the current status.

5. Share system-wide is checked on both projects and tasks in access.

 

Any thoughts on why this is happening and how to fix?

Robin,

You should be able to edit your project, then attach template (you'll search for the template you made with the task you need to add), which will add the task from your template at the bottom of the project plan, unless you specifically noted a parent task in the dialog box that pops up.  From there, you can grab that task and move it wherever you need it within your project plan.  If this isn't happening, I would open tix to support as that is the expected behavior.

As a troubleshooting step, try creating a task report with the project ID and entry date after the event as filters. If the report doesn't show the task, submit a support ticket.
