Upsert or update via kick start

WF Help article states:

You can import large numbers of objects into Workfront using kick-starts. However, consider the following limitations:

  • You cannot update information on records that already exist in Workfront.
  • You can import only new records and their information.

Is an update/update-insert capacity via quick start in development? This would be pretty great!

Yes! We also need the ability to update existing records via kick start or perhaps something a bit more user friendly?

Please add to your development roadmap.

Absolutely,

Having the ability to update information on existing records would be greatly appreciated and a huge help. Please add this feature to your development to-do list!

Updating existing records via Kick Start would be fantastic. This would enable a project manager, for example, to update hundreds of tasks in different projects, with different percentages, durations, etc.

We make heavy use of the kick-start import feature. Having the ability to use it for updates would be great. Right now if we have an import with bad data that needs to be updated we only have 3 options. 1) delete the import and redo it 2) manually clean up the issue 3) make use of the API. Each of these scenarios require additional time, but an added feature would provide an easy admin solution.

The ability to import a file through the API rather than navigating through Setup > System > Kick-Starts > Import Data manually would also be great.

Agree — the inability to update records cleanly in 2019 is extremely difficult to understand. With a large user base like we have this would make adoption easier.
