Time Off - Consistent viewing of time off across different timezones

Does any other organization using WorkFront have users working in different time zones? Do you use the Time off Feature to block users' calendars for days they are not working?

We ran into an issue recently where, if we add an "All Day" day off event to a user's profile from the east coast of US, and that user then views his time off on the west coast, the days it displays as time off "All Day" events are different than what is seen on the east coast. See attached screenshots. Basically if we set 4/27 as an "All Day" day off from the east coast, it shows as a 2-day "All Day" day off from 4/26-4/27. The opposite is true also: If we set 4/27 as a day off from the west coast, and view it from a PC on the east coast, it shows 2-day "all day" off from 4/27-4/28. This causes all sorts of issues on our planning side as we have resources in many different timezones.

I contacted workfront tech support as a consistent view of our team's availability is critical for planning our project deliveries. I was told by the support team that this is a new feature and needs to be requested in the Ideas Exchange.

The timezone that the team member's computer setting on also affects how team members see what dates something is scheduled.

Examples:

  1. Mountain time zone project manager assigns a task to London team member for August 30th but the London team member sees it as assigned to August 30th through August 31st because of the start and end time of the task. Start time is 9:00 am MT - 5:00 pm MT, but it adds 7 hours to the start and time so it shows as "Aug 30th 4:00 pm - Aug 31st 2:00 am"

We are struggling with this issue as well. We have been told by Workfront that this issue is related to both the user's browser time zone setting plus the user's Workfront profile time zone setting. While we can change the user's Workfront profile time zone setting, we are unable to change their browser time zone setting due to the impact on other areas of their work. Workfront Engineering agrees that this is not an intuitive behavior and would require resources dedicated to changing it.

Here is another related idea in the exchange. Perhaps upvoting it as well may help get this initiative on the Workfront Engineering roadmap.

We have the same issue - Melbourne time vs Perth Time, Melbourne vs Auckland Time - both where the time difference is 2 hrs but as WF Support have suggested "this is working as intended". Even though in particular Melbourne & Perth time are in the same country.

We have resulted in not ticking the full day box and selecting the 'scheduled' hours 9-5pm which then doesnt cause issues.
