Sort by ANY column, including custom fields

If the field is in the database I should be able to sort by the column onscreen and in a report. That needs to include custom fields. They are stored values, so I should be able to sort by them.

Please. This should be a very standard feature. Nothing is more frustrating than not being able to sort by a column. I have a custom date field that I'm trying to add a query sort to in text mode and keep running into issues.

Hey, everyone,

Thanks for submitting and voting for this idea. Adding support for all field types is not in our roadmap for the next year, so I'm going to mark this as Not Planned. Please note, that this doesn't mean we won't consider this idea in our roadmap at a later point.

Thanks!

I just simply don't understand why some custom fields are sortable and others are not. This is so frustrating. Users need to do multiple sorts on a report

Please include sorting on columns that have valueexpressions. I have WAY too many duplicate custom fields and hidden columns to work around this inefficiency.

I'd like to be able to sort by any value field in a report. We have instances where apparently the field that we're pulling is so far from the original data table that the report is on, it prevents it from being sortable. But any column should be sortable. Even better, don't have it so columns could be categorizes as 'too far from the rest of the table'. Also, those columns that reference collections should be sortable.

Any updates on when report sortability is going to be delivered? The lack of sorting is making certain reports unusable and my users are simply abandoning using the reports.
