Have Reference IDs on Programs

We have Ref ID on project, task, document, issue, etc. Why is there no Ref ID for Programs? I realize there is Program ID, but this is a much longer string of characters we don't want. This seems like it would be very easy to implement for WF. Help!

    We really need the shorter reference ID on the program level as well, similar to Projects. We use the team's acronym plus the reference ID for our naming at the beginning of each project name. We need to do this on the program level as well.
