Exposing Rate Sheet Source Information (Resource Revenue)

The hourly rate used is currently only available by back-calculating from Resource Revenue (Resource Revenue / Hours). However, this does not make it easy to tell which rate sheet the hourly rate was pulled from.

Ideally, the numbers and rate location behind Resource Revenue should be exposed as fields available for reporting:

  1. Is it the Default, Company, or Project rate?
  2. If Company, which one?
  3. The hourly rate directly cited that is being used by that hour record.

This is something that bothers our finance people from a surety-of-data perspective, especially as convoluted as we feel the financial aspect of Workfront is.

Agreed on how convoluted this product design approach is. HOW ARE PEOPLE PULLING BURN REPORTS WITHOUT COMPANY BILLING RATES IN THEM???? Is literally everyone doing custom text reporting?

In Hours reports, you can get the default system Billing Rate, but not the Company billing rate that is used to calculate the Actual Revenue. That everyone who makes a report has to know to add custom text to tell the system to divide Actual Revenue by Hours to EVERY report in order to see the Company Billing Rate is silly.

Apparently the Company Billing Rates used to be available in Hours reports, but that functionality was depricated. I was told it was because it was confusing.

WOULD LOVE TO BE ABLE TO SHOW COMPLETE BURN REPORTS THAT ARE VERIFIABLE BY END-USERS BY HAVING COMPANY BILLING RATES AVAILABLE IN REPORTS!

THANKS!
