Download PDF comments for use in InDesign

Streamline the editing process, efficiency, and accuracy when making edits.

I want to utilize the feature in InDesign that allows the user to Import a PDF with comments and automate the process of incorporating the edits without copying and pasting.

You can only copy and paste from the Proofing window

I completely agree and want these features. So far I have only been able to load comments into Indesign via the WF plug-in. However, this doesn't then map/show where these comments are on the document or have any of auto/apply text mark-up features found within the PDF comment importer.

If you want at least to get the comments to show in the plug-in, you will need to upload the document via the plug-in. If the document is uploaded direct to WF and not an interactive PDF the plug-in does not seem to se the document at all.

I posted a question asking about the same functions.

Also below if you go to the 2nd half of the video below you will see how the comments look within the WF plug-in.

@DR-Carter-- It's a complete step backwards having to copy and paste/cross-reference as you have mentioned. Adobe needs to solve this issue and it seems a lot of other users feel the same way. It's not forward thinking to have to work this way. It will cause decreased work efficiencies, error, and all around just a pain point that was already worked out with the features for importing the edits directly into InDesign with Import PDF Comments.

Thanks for your support, and hoping Workfront will get this worked out sooner than later.
