Do not show Edit Pencil on things that are not editable

In Classic when you went into an object that was Pending Approval, the "Edit Custom Form" link was hidden.

In the New Experience, when you go into an issue (and I suspect any object type) that is pending approval, the Edit button (pencil) is available and it appears as though you can edit the object, including opening up the form when you click the pencil. But when you try to save your edits, you get an error notifying you that you can't make changes while an approval is pending.

When a user is trying to make multiple changes and spends a lot of time filling in additional information only to find they can't save their changes, it creates a bad experience even for those experienced Workfront users who just forgot to check the status. It creates an even worse experience for those less-Workfront-savvy users who can't figure out what's wrong.

If the NWE intention is “parity or better than classic”, feature needs to be reviewed. Removing the pencil would give parity. Turning on only fields eligible for editing while Pending Approval would be better than classic.

I saw the original thread and the idea that WF thinks this is "working as intended" is laughable…this is a UI/UX design flaw, straight up.

I'm thinking, as others do, that WF needs to put a pause of new features and upgrades and have a HUGE QoL update incorporating literally dozens of items like this.

Heather, congrats on having the idea with most points in the last 60 days! I'd like to see this in action. When you have a moment, can you send me your availability? jeremyflores@workfront.com. Thanks in advance.
