Baseline Scheduler / Automated Baseline Captures

Recommending a feature where you can enable recurring/scheduled baseline captures to avoid the need for PM to remember to manually capture a new baseline.  This would allow project history to be captured after a 1 time "set it and forget it" early in the project.  This feature would be similar to the recurring report sending that already exists, just for baselines.

Hi @MatthewMa2,

If you need this feature today, I invite you to consider our Create Baselines solution, which can automatically create a baseline for multiple Workfront projects on a scheduled basis, providing you a wealth of reporting information to leverage for trends and insight.

Doug

Hi @MatthewMa2

This will be an excellent feature, it possible in future. It is best to include inside the edit project similar like a check box option with reccurance period as we have in task.

@Doug_Den_Hoed__AtAppStore that is great to know!  I'd love to see it as an included feature in Workfront but great to know you have a product to accomplish exactly this!  I suspect our Fusion team could also create a custom automation, but they tend to be focused on developing to much larger business needs compared to this.

An absolutely essential feature must be available in Workfront, even without fusion. The project owner can create or set up this feature by selecting it under "Edit Project," with respect to a specific time period. This period could be daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, semi-annually, yearly, or customized.

Automatic baseline generation would be an enormous help to our system use. It helps us track how projects are truly progressing.

Hi Katie,

I concur, and since my last post above, invite you to consider our Multi Baseline Report solution (particularly the video) for some inspiration of what “help us track how projects are truly progressing” can look, once you do have automated baselines.

Doug
