I'd like to expand on a use case here -- We are an agency and our employees manage multiple clients. Our clients are in the system as companies because each client/company has different contractual rates that we charge for each role or task. We currently cannot use the financials in Workfront the way they're intended because we do not have a way to differentiate role based costs/revenue on a company level if our employees cannot belong to more than one company. This causes us to not be able to utilize the perks of role assignments, allocation reports, user based revenue reports, and a whole slue of other pieces of Workfront that would make the life of an admin a LOT easier :)
We currently use groups as a way to set up permissions on projects/templates/etc. This is fundamentally not what Workfront intended. We are forced to use an expensive tool incorrectly and therefore cannot get the most out of it.
We would LOVE to see this and frankly, I'm surprised there are not more upvotes on this idea.
