Add Commit Date field in Summary area of Quick Actions

Avatar

Description - it is currently too cumbersome to commit to a new date. Users have to open the task to commit to a new date.

Why is this feature important to you - users commit to new dates often so streamlined functionality is important

How would you like the feature to work - from the My Tasks widget, open the summary area under quick actions and see the commit date field. OR have a commit date field as a column in the My tasks widget.

Current Behaviour - Users have to open the task and select a new date from the commit date field.

You can add Commit date field on your summary panel of Tasks in the Layout Template to see it on the summary area under quick actions of the My Tasks widget.

Unfortunately the commit date field in the summary panel isn't in line editable so you cannot actually use it to commit to a new date, you can only see a date if you've opened the task and committed to a new date.

This issue has been a HUGE deal for us as well. Without the option of in line editing in some fashion (either Quick Actions, Summary Panel, View, etc.) we are constantly scrambling.

I also wanted to add the Commit Date to a task view for inline editing, and found that we cannot edit the date inline.  Our users leverage inline editing a lot to reduce all the clicking to get into the task details and edit the field.

This is an issue for us as well. This used to work, but no longer does. As a result we're having trouble getting users to keep their data up to date.
