Stakeholder Register (AKA People tab) - adding stakeholders to the project without assigning tasks

Today, the People tab inside of Workfront is pretty useless. The update all option generates a very small text box without formatting and doesn't allow the ability to create a good update to the project team (AND OTHERS that aren't assigned tasks).

To create a real communications register I would like to be able to ADD PEOPLE to this tab and select a role for people that ARE NOT assigned a task. Users in Workfront and people with a simple email address.

When you "Add People" you should have the option of adding non-Workfront users (even outside parties with an email address) so you can create a communications register. There are many people that may want to be informed about the project without being assigned a task or as the sponsor. Add User would allow adding a non-assigned user with a general role like; Stakeholder, Key Stakeholder, Interested Party (or use the RACI matrix even).

Then, when you have selected user or users and do the Update All button it should be a wide screen & Rich Text box to update the users.

Future enhancements could even include linking specific elements from within the project (i.e. the Gantt chart view or open issues list or a built-in dashboard tab (i.e. we have a Status Report tab that is a dashboard within every project.

Optimal would be when you do the UPDATE ALL option that you see a list of the users and their role (more like a table vs the way it is today).

This creates an in-app process for communicating that cannot be done today.

New Workfront Experience.

Currently the 'Add Users' button is available in the Scheduling tab. The 'Add Users' button would be more convenient for our users in the 'People' tab, so we can then hide the scheduling tab for several layout templates.

The 'Add User' button is helpful in order to "tag" in a user in the system to the project without assigning them tasks, so they can be notified as part of the project team for different events.

I agree with this idea and would like to take it a step further.

@Kyna Baker could this idea be merged with this one https://one.workfront.com/s/idea/0874X000000oO1FQAU/detail?

They seem very similar to me.

With the Scheduling tool going away and Workload Balancer not having an Add User button, this is becoming a critical issue to my management. I hope an Add User button is added somewhere in the project.

100% agree - my team uses the "Add User" button a lot.

Got the pop-up notification this week that the Scheduling tab will be deactivated in October 2022 - is there a plan to have "Add User" added to either the Workload Balancer tab or the People tab?

Thank you for the submission! We think this is a good enhancement to the Workfront platform overall and this product area in particular!

Workfront currently prioritizes large-scale, foundational enhancements such as the new Reporting experience and changes to the core data model, so this item does not fit in our near-term roadmap. As such, I am marking this as Declined now, but we'll keep this in our backlog for the improvements for this area so that we can revisit the decision in the future.

Status changed to: Declined

@Vazgen_Babayan reporting experience as related to People --- please create standard reporting for People. My only option, is to use switch to text mode with code I found after reading many Community discussions. I use that code to get a report in a view that is not what I am looking for and export the report, manipulate the data, and load it into Power BI so I can get the view I need. This is terrible that I have to go through all these hoops to import into another system when WF can just create the report within WF.
