Ability to remove projects and tasks from timesheet from my timesheet view

Hello,

It is painful and timely for project owners to investigate project tasks at the detailed level in order to remove projects from timesheets. People are so busy they just don't have the time. It just shouldn't be this complicated.

Our organization would like the ability from the my timesheet view to remove a project or tasks, which would override the native rules in Workfront.

The pinning feature helps keep the project task on the timesheet, but is ineffective to remove it.

Regardless of the project task dates, we'd like to be able to remove the project task or entire project from the timesheet.

Thanks!

Emily

This would be great!

This would be helpful as we have many people with Tasks from Closed Projects showing up on their Timesheets. I guess this is in theory because they didn't mark that they were "Done with the Task" before the Project was Closed, but simply put we don't live in WF and never will so people don't plan their day around marking tasks done or not.

Many users want to remove tasks from timesheets even if the task falls in the system admin's settings of pulling in tasks within the certain timeframe. We don't want to adjust the sys admin setting b/c we do want to pull the tasks to the timesheet initially, but then users should be able to delete off tasks if they are done with them or know that they will not work on them this week. When we have 30+ tasks on the timesheet (because a lot are on-going tasks that may or may not be done that week), the list is overwhelming.

I think "removed" would be a bad idea, but instead do it via a Filter. An obvious one being "filter only active tasks" for example, for deployments that pre-populate time sheets with the previous period's tasks for process reasons.

Just filter for project/task status would be great! We want to filter out completed tasks by user and not in overall preferences.

I agree with Wendy's comment, a filter for the timesheet would be nice

If this were added, as the SysAdmin I'd want the ability to turn OFF this ability, since it would over-ride our process. The Timesheet by and large takes care of itself if the SysAdmin sets it up properly and the users use it properly.

But if others really feel this is needed, then having it as an option seems reasonable—just so long as it is optional behavior.

Not a filter I would get behind…it's been a common and seemingly useful request.

"Now a filter" is what I meant to say, wish we could edit these…

Thank you for the submission! We think this is a good enhancement to the Workfront platform overall and this product area in particular!

Workfront currently prioritizes large-scale, foundational enhancements such as the new Reporting experience and changes to the core data model, so this item does not fit in our near-term roadmap. As such, I am marking this as Declined now, but we'll keep this in our backlog for the improvements for this area so that we can revisit the decision in the future.
