lastUpdateDate and replying to notes

I have a scenario that looks for no activity in a project. I am filtering based on lastUpdateDate, when looking through results some came through with recent notes to old updates and were not counted as an "update". How would I filter based on projects that were not updated or had any recent notes within the last month?

Use the lastNote object on the project - the below excludes stale projects that have a more recent update
