Crank it up to ELEVEN! 11 steps to make managing your Workfront users easier

Struggling to get your users to log in to Adobe Workfront? Spending all your time managing user access? Searching for answers to users' Workfront questions?

The primary goal is to get users into the system, provide them with appropriate access to their work, and grant the right permissions to perform that work.

Let’s get this party started!

It’s not a party until the people show up, so how do we get them in to Workfront? There are a few ways to add users, so we’ve got lots of options!

1) If you are getting started with just a few users, adding them individually might be the easiest. Our step-by-step Adding Users learning path will walk you through the entire process.

2) For bigger groups, departments or bulk new hires, avoid adding them one-by-one and instead check out the steps to Import Users via an import file.

3) Staying on top of new additions and deactivating employees that have left takes time. Want to make your life easier? Consider an Integration with the SAML 2.0 solution for Single Sign-On (SSO) or for an even better option, Configure SAML 2.0 using ADFS to help with auto provisioning.

4) It’s not a party until you show your users all the cool stuff they can do, and that’s where some training can really save the day. Looking to use Workfront to train your users on Workfront? Look no further than the Workfront Onboarding Projects page! This puts the fun in functionality and can get your users excited. Want inspiration for other ideas? Check out the User Group recording, Training End Users.

Is the complaint and question department open? Let’s troubleshoot!

Your users are going to ask you tons of questions ranging from system performance, access, project reporting and the dreaded, “why am I getting so many emails?” request. Here are a few, specially selected troubleshooting resources to get you started.

5) Need ideas on request queues and intake forms? Check out this recording from a recent User Group.

6) Teach your users to customize their settings and identify the Workfront emails they want or need to receive with this handy Manage Notifications guide.

7) Random questions about projects? This nifty Manage a Project Troubleshooting guide will get you started!

8 and 9) Are things moving slow or seem a little “buggy”? Always check (and bookmark!) the Status site and the Known Issues page for quick answers on performance.

Pro-Tip! Funnel all questions and feedback through your very own System Administrator Request Queue. There, you can track all the issues and your responses to help keep noise out of your inbox.

Lastly, how do you know what’s going on? Let the system work for you.

10) Are you confident that your efforts around user management are successful? The reports in the Workfront Usage Dashboard can help you gauge system usage and identify areas of improvement. Kickstart the reports into your environment and check in regularly for trends!

11) Not sure how many licenses you have available? Stay on top of how many licenses you have and how they’re assigned via our Manage Licenses procedure.

Pro-Tip! If you have multiple groups in your environment, set maximum license counts by group.
