Allow report suite ID to be set by data element in DTM adam_haining - Dynamic Tag Management
Right now you cannot use a data element to set the report suite ID. It would be great to be able to set the report suite ID conditionally via a data element so you do not have to write the logic in the s_code, and so you can really control what the report suite ID should be set to in any condition. By writing it in the s_code, it will work for the base page view, but it will not work for any event based rules or direct call rules that send data to Adobe Analytics.

DTM Cookie Improvements adam_haining - Dynamic Tag Management
DTM has the ability to write cookies using the _satellite.setCookie function. However, there are a few problems with how they currently function, and it requires some work arounds to get it to work properly for some websites. Here are the items that need to be changed:Cookie names can be written with a space in the name, or other invalid or undesired values. This is especially possible when a data element is set to persist for a visit or visitor. The cookie names should be encoded so this will n...

DTM Callback for Adobe Analytics Tool adam_haining - Dynamic Tag Management
It would be great to have a callback feature in DTM for Adobe Analytics. The callback would fire after data was sent to Adobe Analytics, such as when the s.t() or s.tl() functions are called. The callback would likely reference the "s" object, so that s.clearVars() can be called. This will allow every hit that is sent to Adobe Analytics to start with a clean slate instead of having to use what was on the previous hit. This is especially important for single page applications. It would be great t...

Re: Add support for "products" variable to DTM adam_haining - Dynamic Tag Management
Problem is that the products variable is super specific and so many customizations (events and eVars). Best case is to use the custom code. If you're using a data layer, you should be able to loop through the objects and build the products variable accordingly. This takes the weight off of the developers and allows someone with much more experience to put it all together inside of DTM.

Re: DTM: Direct call rule adam_haining - Dynamic Tag Management
DTM doesn't keep track of usage of the rules. What you can do is have these rules populate a new variable, and you can then look to see how often it's being used in the reporting. On the flip side, these rules may already be populating a unique value in an eVar/prop and/or a specific event, so you can look at the usage there.

Re: Extend purchaseID, transactionID and eventID beyond their current 20char limits adam_haining - Adobe Analytics
This is a big one. Lots of work arounds have been created to do something with the 20 char limitation, but it is an every increasing problem as few systems have GUIDs or unique IDs that are fewer than 20 characters.

Re: Pull a dynamic report suite id from data layer adam_haining - Dynamic Tag Management
Hi Jonas,With the latest release of Adobe Analytics, you can now use a custom report suite ID by checking the box under "Library Management" labeled as "Set report suites using custom code below". This will allow you to set the report suite ID under the global s_account variable, and DTM will use that. This means that you can set it based on the data elements you've setup for each environment. Here is some updated code I recommend be used.function getAnalyticsAccount() { for(var toolid in _satel...

Re: DTM: trackDownloadLinks, trackExternalLinks don't fire via Adobe Analytics integration adam_haining - Dynamic Tag Management
Hi Julia,Yes, although you may have declared the global object as "smetrics", you will still want to use "s" when referring to any custom code block. This applies to the customize code section in the Adobe Analytics tool settings, as well as the customize code section for Adobe Analytics in any rules. You most likely will never refer to Adobe Analytics code outside of these sections, but if you do refer to it from a 3rd party tag, you will need to make sure it is "smetrics". The reason is that i...

Re: DTM: trackDownloadLinks, trackExternalLinks don't fire via Adobe Analytics integration adam_haining - Dynamic Tag Management
Glad that helped. However, there is a recent update that came out in DTM that will allow you to apply certain configurations before or after the DTM configurations. These can be found at the bottom of the Adobe Analytics tool configuration in the section titled "Customize Page Code". You'll see there are now 2 options:Before UI settings (UI takes precedence)After UI settings (custom code takes precedence)Here you can see that you can specify if the UI or the code is going to trump the other. Ju...
