Re: Using DTM "Element Exists" Conditions Event in a SPA

Vijaya,Thank you for responding, but this did not work on my implementation. When an error occurs, a new error view is rendered which contains the element with the ID. Because the element is not in the DOM initially, there is no 'data element change'. The element is introduced into the DOM via the new view, which is why I thought that 'enters viewport' or 'element exists' events should work.

Using DTM "Element Exists" Conditions Event in a SPA

Hello,Has anyone been able to use "enters viewport" or "element exists" Event Type in DTM with a Single Page Application? I would like to track when an error occurs. When an error occurs, an error element is added to the view with an element ID. I would like to track when that element (ID) is added to the DOM in order to track how many errors occur in a user session. In my implementation, when the error element shows on screen, nothing happens in Adobe Analytics debugger. Has anyone been able to...

Hello Christy, I like your approach because I'm not comfortable with putting it in Library Management so that I can keep my code most recent version. I'm working with a Single Page App, so i'm not sure if this will work. Something's not working correctly because I'm not seeing anything returned. Here's my data element custom code: /* * Plugin: getPreviousValue_v1.0 - return previous value of designated * variable (requires split utility) */ var s = _satellite.getToolsByType('sc')[0].getS(); s.get...

This is not the case at the moment. After your suggestion of monitoring the network traffic, I think I know what's going on now.Just a bit of history: We are phasing in the implementation to AppMeasurement (DTM) from Omniture s_code H.26. The products website is using the new AppMeasurement code while the start application event implementation is still using the H.26 code. AppMeasurement request url is going to 112.2o7.net while the start application event is going to smetrics.mydomain.com. So, ...

Waqas, after implementing your suggestion, I'm seeing the events (Applications Started) show in the Tracking Code Report, but the credit is going to "None" instead of the tracking codes.Arun, I have not thought about 'Clear Vars'. I will check my implementation and let you know.

Web Analytics Ninja_2 Thanks for the reply. Yes, the main goal is to get cid to stick to s.campaign. getValOnce sets the cookie s_campaign with the value of the tracking code for the remainder of the users session. Also, if the user hits the browser back button, it prevents the tracking code from being submitted again. getValOnce is working properly in my implementation. According to the link you provided, "The following plug-ins should continue to work since the underlying functionality is stil...

To add more context to my original problem above, here is an image of my reporting.1. represents a dev environment where I'm using legacy Omniture H.26 s_code. You can see that while s.campaign is set, it's crediting "source_test_snap_9:23AM" Tracking Code with event "Applications Started".2. - 6. represent migrating over to AppMeasurement via DTM. Here I'm setting s.campaign using getValOnce, but no credit is given to the Tracking Codes from the events Applications Started/Applications Complete...

I'm setting s.campaign in DTM (AppMeasurement) in a page load rule and have a couple of events that fire when a user starts/completes an online application. According to this article (https://marketing.adobe.com/resources/help/en_US/sc/implement/campaign.html), "Each campaign value remains active for a user, and receives credit for that user's activities and success events until it expires."In my implementation, the s_campaign cookie set by s.getValOnce() is present when the events fire, but the...

Thank you Jantzen,That thread solved my "s is not defined" issue. Now that I've implemented the s.getValOnce() plugin, how can I use it in DTM?Right now, I have s.prop25=s.getValOnce(s.prop25,'ibCustomer'); in a page load rule under Conditions > Custom Criteria. This is not working.

Deploying getValOnce plugin in App Measurement via custom library results in an "s is not defined" error. Any direction on getting this implemented properly in App Measurement?

I think you can close this discussion. It's Adobe Analytics Debugger extension that's falsely throwing duplicate calls. When I see the duplicate call in Adobe Analytics Debugger, Fiddler is only showing a single call, and the pages report is reporting a single page view. As of now, I only have a single page name rule in DTM.

Thanks for the filter tip on the dev tools.I removed the DTM header code, and got _satellite is not defined. Then, I removed the pageBottom code and got nothing. Our implementation is custom. I did verify that when I'm seeing duplicates in calls, I'm only seeing one page view in Adobe Analytics.I guess the mystery still remains; why is the call still being made with pageBottom code?

Also, if I remove the pageBottom code, it's still making the call to the analytics server. Just one call consistently.

We were using an old H.26 s_code, but it has been completely removed. I verified that there is only one pageBottom call in the code after everything has loaded. The pageBottom code is statically loaded. So, here's the weird thing, it doesn't always make 2 calls when I reload the page; just sometimes. I'm starting to think that the Adobe Analytics Debugger Chrome extension may be messing with me.Update: I just verified with Fiddler that only one call is being made when I see two calls on Adobe Ana...

Unfortunately I cannot. It's in a dev environment and can't deploy it until it's working properly. I'm using Chrome DevTools with Adobe Analytics Debugger to test my implementation. Working with Fiddler to verify multiple calls.

To Roman's point, I'm getting multiple(2) calls to Analytics servers if I add the _satellite.pageBottom() just before the closing body tag.
