Hi, I have a submit button in a PDF that submits the PDF data in UTF-8
encoded XML format. The PDF hame rich text fields. Hence the XML
contains some characters like à which is a valid UTF-8 character. When I
try to recreate the PDF using this XML and the same template used to
construct the PDF, the DXFA file is throwing the following exception. Is
there a way I can specify to the DXFA the character set of the XML?
Invalid byte 2 of 2-byte UTF-8 sequence.[2/17/09 8:30:17:798 EST]
Hi Jitendra, I used the Dynamic Document Generation (DDG) technique
which comes along with the Account Enrollment Solution Accelerator. DDG
uses a DXFA file (which in turn uses some tag libraries) to control the
stitching. The input to the DXFA is the data XML along with the list of
template names to be stitched. DXFA file behind the scenes calls the
Forms and Output services to do the stitching. The standard DXFA file is
available when you download the Account Enrollment Solution Accelerator.

Stefan,Thanks for the explanation. Why I wanted to do this is because we
have some free form fields in our templates that will be pre-filled with
blank value when the PDF is rendered, but the user can type in anything
later. Hence we created a set of dummy fields in the schema that the
template designer could use to bind the free form fields, using a
different field in the data connection each time. But since the number
of templates is huge, there is a probability that the same dummy field
Hi, I am using DDG to stitch multiple templates dynamically. All the
templates are bound to the same XML schema. We have some text fields
across the different templates that share the same element in the data
connection (schema). When the templates are stitched, all these fields
that are bound to the same element in the schema share the same value,
that is, when one field is updated all the other fields with the same
binding change the value. Is there a way to override this behavior? Even
Hi, I have a XML schema which contains aggregates and elements with a
"." (period) in between element names, like "com.Fax_Number". When I try
to bind these elements to text fields in a form, the "default binding"
shows up like "x.y.z.com\.Fax_Number". When I pass in an XML with a
value for the "com.Fax_Number" field, the value get displayed in the
form and if I change the value in the form, the changed value appears in
the submitted XML. But, if the input XML does not contain the
This option is checked. Also the PDF opens correctly inside the web
browser if I connect to the custom web app running on Windows 2000 or
XP. It opens in a seperate Reader window only if I connect to the custom
app running on Windows 2003. There seems to be a problem with the Reader
behavior based on the OS.
No Suvrat. This didnt work. This issue seems to be purely happening
after the OS version change. The configuration that worked: Browser (IE
6.0) > Custom web application (Win 2000) -> Livecycle (Win 2003) The
configuration that didnt work: - Browser (IE 6.0) > Custom web
application (Win 2003) -> Livecycle (Win 2003) Please note that the
custom web application incorporates the DXFA stitching logic from the
Account Enrollment Solution Accelerator. Regards,Badri.
