Using DTM with CQ OwlyChick - Adobe Experience Manager
We are using DTM with CQ. However, I have to have my production code on the staging site because if I put staging code on staging, it will overwrite the production code when it gets pushed to production. How does everyone else deal with this? Is there some special way to just have staging code on staging and production code on production without it getting overwritten?

What Training Do I Need? OwlyChick - Dynamic Tag Management
I have used SiteCatalyst for years, but now am responsible for implementing the tracking/tagging as well. I have no programming background. What would be good topics to research in order to have enough knowledge and understanding to be able to tell my developers what I need to have on a page so that I can set up tracking in DTM? Do I need to get more familiar with JavaScript or ??For example, we have a form that has 5 steps, however the page does not change with steps. I'm trying to figure out h...

Re: Form Abandonment OwlyChick - Adobe Analytics
Thanks! I'm confused as to what it means to assign something to "contextdata"? We don't do any coding on the site except for the DTM tags. Everything is just through DTM and assigning variables through SiteCatalyst/Adobe Analytics. Thanks!

Form Abandonment OwlyChick - Adobe Analytics
I am trying to answer a few questions for a form that has 5 steps. I need to be able to capture:How long a user took to complete each stepHow far they went on the form (ie completed 20% ( through step 1), completed 40% (through step 2) and so on)What errors they receive once they hit the proceed button (ie. first name was blank, so they have to fill that in) How many times each error is madeMy developer wrote the following but is not familiar with Adobe Analytics:window.formLayer = { Progress: [...

Re: Track all links on page regardless of being internal or external OwlyChick - Adobe Analytics
Thank you! So I need to put in the domains for the external URLs, correct? We will be creating these infographics on a weekly basis and they will all have different links to different domains. Is there any way to tell SiteCatalyst to just track clicks regardless of domain without disrupting my analytics on the remainder of the site?

Thank you! Unfortunately I don't configure SiteCatalyst via CQ. I do it via DTM and a header and footer 😞

Track all links on page regardless of being internal or external OwlyChick - Adobe Analytics
I need to be able to track clicks on different links within an infographic on a page. I've been told ClickMap does not track links to external sites. What is the easiest way to accomplish this? I do all my edits to code within DTM. Thank you!

Re: Identifying Pages with Errors OwlyChick - Adobe Analytics
Thank you! I added that. However, I'm disappointed that you can only choose Top 1000 pages if you want it to look at each line item. Otherwise, it only examines if your entire site has gone up or down by x%. My site has more than 5,000 pages. Wish I there was an option to look at each for change. Thanks again for your help 🙂

Identifying Pages with Errors OwlyChick - Adobe Analytics
I manage a huge site and often will find out when I do my monthly dashboards/reports that a page has been throwing an error for 1 week... 2 weeks.. all month. Usually this is indicated by a page suddenly having super high page views (due to it reloading). How does everyone else manage to make sure all pages are live and loading correctly? Is there a report you run daily/weekly? Looking for any and all suggestions. Thank you!

Re: DTM - s_code Won't Propagate on Site OwlyChick - Dynamic Tag Management
Thanks! 1. I'm using production embed code and all changes are published - Check 🙂2. Yes, everything is in the managed s_code library in the Analytics tools in DTM3. I typed in _satellite in the console and got: Object {$data: function, uuid: 18, dataCache: Object, isArray: function, isObject: function…}4. Yes, I have the EU compliance checkbox checked. Do I need to remove this?? THANK YOU!!!

DTM - s_code Won't Propagate on Site OwlyChick - Dynamic Tag Management
I have inserted my s_code for my sites through the DTM interface as well as used the "Customize Page Code" section to capture values from my URLs to populate my s.pageName. I have checked and both my header and footer tags can clearly be seen on every page of my sites. However, the s_code is not present, nor is the code to capture the URL values. When I use the SiteCatalyst debugger, I get "no requests found". Any ideas? Could DTM be down? My site is on CQ5, so Adobe products should work with Ad...

Loading Site Content Effectiveness Variables through Customize Page Code OwlyChick - Dynamic Tag Management
I am capturing values from my URLs through code in the Customize Page Code interface in DTM to populate my s.pageName, channel and 2nd level site section. I can't see that the code is being loaded on the pages and the debugger is not populating the variables. How can I check or where should I see the code?

Re: Determine URL of Link that pulls up Page Not Found OwlyChick - Dynamic Tag Management
Thank you Nikhil. However, my problem isn't with the referring URL. My issue is what URL are people trying to get to. The referring URL report only shows pages within my site. I need to know if we have incorrect links posted on other sites so I can ask for them to be changed and/or what the URL is so I can create redirects. 95% of my Page Not Found page views have the Page Not Found page as the entry point 😞

Determine URL of Link that pulls up Page Not Found OwlyChick - Dynamic Tag Management
I have a high number of page views on my Page Not Found page. I have used the Previous Page report to figure out that some of our pages may have bad links, but the high majority of the page views have my Page Not Found as the entry page. We recently migrated our site and I think users may have old bookmarks. I can do redirects if I know what the URLs are. Is there any way to capture what URL is being typed in/bookmarked that leads to the Page Not Found?

Does anyone have any examples of code they've written in the custom code section of the conditions? I want to make sure I've written the true statement correctly.

DTM: Writing Custom Condition for Page Load Rule OwlyChick - Dynamic Tag Management
I can't seem to find any documentation on the form that the custom script needs to be written for conditions on the page load rule. I'm trying to write a page load rule for my error page to set the pageType=error page. The rule is not loading at all from what I can tell. When I put the code from the condition into my console, I can see that my variable "myBool" fires as true, so my code is correct (I think!)For the condition, I am basing it on our H1 tag to identify the page (triggered at bottom...

I am concatenating other parts of the URL. By Analytics, I meant Site Catalyst, not GA. Sorry about that. I put the code in the "Customize Page Code" section for Site Catalyst.

Site Content Effectiveness Variables through Customize Page Code OwlyChick - Dynamic Tag Management
I am capturing values from my URLs in order to populate my pageName, channel and 2nd level section. I have entered the code into the Customize Page Code interface in the Analytics section of DTM, however it doesn't seem to be loading on my pages. I used the debugger and cannot see that any of those variables are being populated. Where should that code be appearing on the page? How do I troubleshoot?

Re: Setting Variables in DTM OwlyChick - Adobe Analytics
Thanks! I'm having some issues setting up an event-based rule and can't figure out why. That was my last guess as to maybe I wasn't supposed to have the evar set in both places 😞

Setting Variables in DTM OwlyChick - Adobe Analytics
If you set up your evars, events and props in DTM (ie. Event based rule evar16=xyz), do you then also have to go into Adobe Analytics>Admin>Report Suites>Edit Settings>Conversion Variables and also set up the evar/prop/event?

Is anyone able to take a look at the above and see where I'm going wrong? The custom code is actually: eVar2 = 'Sample Text';$('[data-formlocalauthentication="form"]').each(function(){$(this).on('submit',function(){eVar2 = $(this).find('[name="agentid"]').val();return eVar2;});});

How do you correlate a login ID with download of a logo on a secure page in DTM? OwlyChick - Adobe Analytics
I need to create a report that shows 3 columns - User ID, button clicked (the click on the button is equivalent to downloading the logo on our site), and a time stamp (HH:MM DD:MM:YY).The user experience is the following:1. User arrives at Page A and enters a unique ID in a form field and presses "Submit"2. User is taken to Page B where he/she has access to download needed logos via buttons that read "Download small logo", "Download large logo", etc.I use DTM for my analytics, but am brand new t...

Character Limit on Page Name OwlyChick - Adobe Analytics
Is there a character limit on Page Names? I have a few pages that have very long page names and it seems they are not showing any page views. I can see them populate my debugger, so I know they are registering. I'm wondering whether they are not showing up in my reports because the page name has a character limit for reporting? Ex: pageName=/content/site/sitecom/en/category-solutions-for-you/type-of-solutions/solution/color/descriptionI'm trying to run the report Paths>Pages>Page Analysis>Page S...
