You can do something similar to what you are trying to achieve by using the Object "Patterns". On the object properties choose the field tab, then click the patterns drop down. Or you could use some javascript for the onSelect event.

I had the same problem a few months ago. it seemed to happen after adobe reader updated to version 9.0. I found a work around of opening adobe reader first prior to opening LCD (Version 8.1 ES). Then the preview worked great and it stopped crashing. It happened with a few different forms. Eventually the problem went away, dont know what cleared it up... But I do recommmend opening reader prior to opening LCD.

I found a problem with the script provided by SL Walker.age = Round((Date2Num(dob.formattedValue,"MM-DD-YYYY")-Date())/365.25)*-1when I enter a dob of 03/01/1980 then age = 29, and when I enter a dob of 04/01/1980 then age = 29, but that is incorrect b/c their bday has not occured for the present year so the age is actually 28 until 04/01/1980. I do not know the solution to fix this but if anyone else does I would appreciate the help!

Jared,I had the same problem with my barcoded form. I tried the pre-print idea too with same results. I found there to be a problem in the adobe auto generated code for the barcode. I ended up writing my own code and leaving it in the calculate event and it works great! I posted a message to the forum a few months ago and one of the experts that scans the forums agreed that there is a problem with the auto generated code. If you post your email address I will send you the code I used in my barco...

Last week I installed some adobe updates, I believe one of those was for adobe reader. Now everytime in LCD when I click on the preview tab I get the following message: "The Adobe Acrobat/Reader that is running can not be used to view PDF files in a web browser. Please exit Adobe Acrobat/Reader and try again. Also since the updates LCD seems to fail and close unexpectedly quit often.

I have a form that utilizes the adobe 2D barcode. I created a collection and linked it to the barcode. All data from the collection is put into the barcode except additional rows in a dynamic table. It will put in only the first row from the table, no additional rows are encoded into the barcode. I am using the built in functions (unmodified) from LCD that encode the data into the barcode. At first i did not have the table in its own seperate subform but then I did put it into a subform and I ge...

Paul,Could you tell me more about this repeating line. Is this the reason for the lag between fields? If so how do I remove the cause?

I found the XML source option under the "View" menu. I have 10409 lines of code in my form, half of it is the big array.

I am having the same problem with a one page form, it has some simple scripting in it but it takes on average 5 to 7 seconds to tab to the next field in adobe reader and even in the preview through lcd. I had a huge array with over 5000 elements but after I removed that it still takes the same amount of time to tab between fields.

yes of the textfields, and make sure they are under the Master Pages in the Hierarchy. Then they will repeat on every page, even if it is dynamically extended. hope that helps.

How about create an array with all 11 field names, loop through the array to check the indivual fields. Have you tried to accomplish this through the object validation under the value tab...?

You are correct. I have not tried that method nor read much about but i do now recall reading about the feature being available through acrobat pro somehow. I am not sure if it will work for reader users? Im not sure also which book i have that discussed that option, it might be the book by j.p. Terry - creating dynamic form with adobe livecycle designer

let me specify a bit more, it is software you buy and install on a machine, then you use the web interface of the software to enable features for your form. then when you distribute it to users they will have the ability to save the form with the data they entered. Hope that helps you.

You have to have Adobe Livecycle Reader Extensions. It is additional software from adobe that you purchase and install, it gives you the ability to enable a form filler to save the form data as entered.

I forgot to mention that on the object binding tab there is a checkbox - Specify Item Values. I cant check the box because the list is not being populated from the object window, it is dynamic, My list of values is long(350) which is why I dont want to enter them and prefer to use the an array and javascript.
