Hi Rama,Right, I mean not mandatory. The Forms Training assumes you have a basic understanding of AEM -- the concept of Author and Publish, the role of an Author versus a Developer, etc. -- but the rest (including client libs, OSGi bundles) are introduced during the workshop. If you need a deeper understanding (which you probably will) then you will need to revisit AEM training but people should be able to complete the training successfully.

Hi Rama, Yes, Create an Adaptive Form creates an HTML5 version of the form that is responsive. It is created using the web interface in AEM. You create a PDF Form or HTML5 form (also referred to as a mobile form) using AEM Forms Designer (a Windows only development tool that creates an XML/XDP template version of a form or document).Server-side, we have documents services that can read that XML/XDP template version of the form and render it as HTML5 or as PDF (or as PCL/PS). Acrobat and Reader c...

Hi Rama,Having an understanding of the AEM topics you outlined in your original question -- templates, components, OSGi, etc. -- are a nice to have for Forms Training; At a minimum, you can take the FormsTraining with an understanding of the following:1. Adobe Experience Manager 6.2: Authoring Overview (v2)2. Adobe Experience Manager 6.2: Technical Infrastructure Overview3. Front-end Developer Workshop

Try this one.Dropbox - Return DOR Custom Submit.zip Also, remember that you need to configure the User Mapper service for this to work as it writes to the repositoryThis article talks about the Service Authentication (Adobe CQ Help | Querying Adobe Experience Manager 6 data using the Sling getServiceResourceResolver method )

Hi,I am guessing you are trying to add panels to an Adaptive Form. Correct? If so you can add the following function to your client libabries (I have also included a link to the client library package if you want to install that Dropbox - Forum😞function addPanels(num, repeatablePanel) { var iNum = Number(num); var im = repeatablePanel.instanceManager; var iCurrCount = Number(im.instanceCount); while (iNum > iCurrCount) { im.addInstance(); // add Instance checks internally for maxCount so you ne...

Here is a sample that renders an adaptive form, loads some information into a hidden field on the form via JSON to use as a timestamp and save location. Once the form submits, it will submit to a custom JSP that saves the data, generates a PDF, and then renders that PDF back to the user so they can sign or print this as a document of record.Attached is the package. Below is the JSP to handle the custom submitDropbox - Return DOR Custom Submit.zip<%-- ~ Demo Sample: Gary Thain 01/12/2015 ~ Return...

There have been some cases when generating an AEM Maven project using the AEM's archtype version 10 where the project will be deployed, however, the Java code (HelloWorldModel.java) cannot be found by the calling "helloworld.html". If this happens, your content will be deployed to the server but the hello world message on the webpage wlil be blank (will not contain the message from the HelloWorldModel.java.This appears to be a problem related to versioning. To solve the issue, do the following:1...

This question came up during a Forms training session last week. For people who have not worked with LiveCycle, grasping what the Document services are and what they do can be a challenge. The idea was that a person submits and a PDF is sent back. We had a couple of ways to approach it, the easiest way would be to modify the custom submission and return a Thank You page with a link to the PDF that they could click. But we decided to build something from scratch with the thought that we could bui...

A common use case for forms is forms for the mobile worker: the field worker. AEM Forms provides that capability using Mobile Workspace App. Forms Workspace leverages the capabilities of your mobile device, and lets you capture photos, videos, and collect data such as timestamps and other information. The next time you connect to a network, you can synchronize the collected data. the link below is a use case that highlights the benefits of the Forms Workspace http://wwwimages.adobe.com/content/d...

HiThat error is usually related to the Java JDK you are running and the version of AEM you are running. If you are running AEM 6.0 without having installed any service Pack, you have to be using Java version 7 (do a java -v command from the command line to checkout your version). If you are running Java version 8, install Service Pack 1 or 2.Let me know if you need additional informationGary

Adding Panels Dynamically to an Adaptive Form using the GuideBridge
Avatar

So here is a sample I did up that is a pretty common use-case: dynamically adding panels to a form based on a numeric value found in a field. For example, you ask the form user "how many dependents to claim on their tax form" Based on the number added to the form, show or hide the appropriate number. This was write for AEM 6.0, but should work in future releases as it uses the guidebridge object to capture an event (in this case the filling a numeric field) and respond by adding additional panels...

This error may occur when you run AEM 6.0 with Java 8. Java version 8, is not supported with AEM 6.0 until you install the service pack. If you are having that problem, install the service pack. You can follow these steps: Download the most recent Service Pack (SP2) from package share or from our dropbox folder: https://www.dropbox.com/s/h1dwxyxcvsw4dag/ServicePack2.zip?dl=0Once downloaded, go to the folder where you installed AEM initially, and delete all the contents in the crx-quickstart fold...

If you are following the steps in the videos having to do with creating/building a Maven project and it continues to fail, check your version of Maven by typing mvn -version in the command line. If it is greater than 3.1.1 download an earlier version (or 3.1.1 is also fine). There are known issues with newer versions of Maven, JDK1.7, and the Archetype we use in the videos.
