Have you considered moving to Adobe ReportBuilder.  The ExcelClient datablocks are easily transitioned and there are some advantages to using Adobe ReportBuilder vs. ExcelClient.

When you create a dashboard in the new look n' feel and then create a publishing widget for that dashboard the publishing widget displays the legacy dasboard look n' feel and should display the new dashboard look. 

Product Trials would allow the evaluation of a particular product or set of products at no cost, for a limited time.  This would give us the necessary leverage to prove the 'value add' of the great products Adobe offers.
